Hi. Would to suggest a pie chart for each portolio, with coins as %. Great overview info for sharing with friends.
Was just going to request the same but I found that Emil was 1 hour ahead of me. Please implement this! Currently I have to do this manually in Excel and I update it once a week to see if I need to reallocate some of my investments to stick to my strategy. I don't know how many users are really this serious with their investments, but as I have 20+ coins in my portfolio it is difficult to monitor them all without a graph.
@Jasper: Yes there is some serious down time we have on our hands to manage our investments, just to allow us to make the most informed decisions to improve our financial outcomes. Looks good though mate!!
I was also thinking about this today. It would be really useful not just for sharing with others but for judging how balanced a portfolio is.
If you hide your balances (shake to hide for example), you get a % breakdown of holdings. This is what I use to see distribution. Far more helpful than a pie chart - as per Jasper's example the colours become useless after a certain point and it's impossible to distinguish between proportions based on circle/ring segment areas.
@Ben Bodien: this
@Ben Bodien: Maybe there could be an option to choose a colour and the different gradients from dark to light would be a different coin, it would be easier to see when you have that much coins as on the picture in my opinion .
@Ben Bodien: thanks for this! though there should still be an option to display both % holdings and balances simultaneously.
Pie/Graph chart of % of all coins would be great. Pie charts become less useful when holding more than 10+ coins imho, still nice though.
Along these lines, holdings in a portfolio should also display as percentage rather than dollar amount when tapping the upper-right net gain / losses button to see percent gain / losses. Each holding should display its percentage share in your portfolio.
Nvm, just tried @ben-bodien's suggestion!
Horizontal grouped bar charts are easier for comparison. Pie charts are best for 5-7 items but can’t make meaningful comparisons within larger groups than that. Taught a Visualization of Information course and we teach this as best practice for data visualization to our employees.
It's a must have feature !
My god that would be amazing.
Each coin should have a horizontal bar. It should show the initial investment percentage and the current rate percentage of holding.
The ability to select either a pie or bar chart would be ideal!
The only reason why I still use google sheets with cryptofinance. I need to see the current portfolio allocation in order to rebalance assets that went up or down massively.
Good feature would like to see it soon!
Pie charts considered harmful
Would love this with the ability to export the image as a JPG or PNG
It would be good to have a feature on the app to show current portfolio as a pie chart with percentages. Thanks!
Pie charts are pretty. That's about it. Information value of them is very low. This article has a good overview of pie chart flaws: https://www.perceptualedge.com/articles/visual_business_intelligence/save_the_pies_for_dessert.pdf
It would be better if devs could spend their time on actually useful features like realized/unrealized profit or improving CSV imports but if this chart needs to be done a plain old bar chart or a stacked area chart (to track percentage in time) would be more useful.
